“Be wild; that is how to clear the river”!

In this season of mythos and mystery- this beautiful time of howling and whispering winds, the clearing of leaves from trees and minds, I’m reminded by Clarissa Pinkola Estes to: “Be wild; that is how to clear the river.” Take a brisk walk. Drink it all in. Let it all go. Be one with your surround- just another creature walking in the woods, or by the sea, or past a multitude of humming streets. Or go for a “camino divina” walk with the “Perpetual Mother of Story”- Clarissa Pinkola Estes, my “likely or unlikely saint” in chapter 4. Enjoy!

And . . . the gorgeous picture today is by Jenny Kostecki-Shaw from “The Mother’s Wisdom Deck”.

  1. I’m up to my bushy tail in Estes’ wildness teachings right now. Wilder-ness…..Wild-earnes[t]. While-dar[ling]ness,. I howl with joy as I scratch, root out, and identify with paintbrush, those things that do not serve, I scrape with palette knife the linen surface to clear and prepare for what does. In vibrant, oily goo I furrow, cultivate, and grow in color a marker, a reminder, a memorial for the God in me–THE Wildness in its Purest form.
